"Texas Chain: Thrifty
Thirties " (74 by 90 inches, 1999) was designed and pieced by Judy Martin
and quilted by Jean Nolte. Each ring of squares is made from a different
fabric, while the background is a uniform muslin. Jean accented the plain
areas with Lotus Flower quilting. The fabrics include 1930s reproduction
prints from Marcus Brothers and Benartex. The batting is organic cotton
from Hobbs. Complete instructions for this quilt are included in The
Creative Pattern Book (Crosley-Griffith Publishing Company, Inc., 2000).
