  "View from my Childhood Garden" (64 by 84 inches, 1988) is an impressionistic strip-pieced landscape that now hangs in the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum in Northern Ireland. Joen created depth by placing toned, lighter-valued fabrics in the background. This quilt is featured in The Magical Effects of Color and on the back cover of Landscapes & Illusions: Creating Scenic Imagery with Fabric, both sadly now out of print. Photo by Ken Wagner.
