  Terrell was looking for a new way to piece landscapes, so she took a three-day workshop with Ruth McDowell, author of Piecing: Expanding the Basics (C&T Publishing, 1998). She was inspired to design and piece "Aspen Grove" (two panels, each 21 by 74 inches, 2000) after the workshop. These hangings are mounted on French doors in Terrell's living room. The shades glow when backlit, making them look like stained glass.
