JOEN
WOLFROM'S QUILT SHOW
Joen Wolfrom is an innovator. "Diversity is spawned by people searching
for new ideas and techniques to use when they find that established
methods are not compatible with their desired goals," she says.
"That is how I developed the technique for creating strip-pieced
landscapes."
In the early 1980s Joen began thinking about ways to create sophisticated
landscapes in fabric. The whimsical, country-style appliqué she'd
been doing didn't produce the artistic effects she sought. Determined
to solve this technical problem, she began a trial-and-error process
that eventually resulted in her strip-pieced landscape technique.
Today, her method is widely used by textile artists and quiltmakers
around the world.
You'll find instructions for the quilts in this online show in
Joen's books, available in
the SewAndQuilt.com Shopping Center.
