QUILT SHOW

Cindy Walter is the creator of the Snippets technique for "painting" with fabric. A traditional quiltmaker, she had long wanted to learn to paint with oils, but felt too intimidated to try. One night, when she couldn't sleep, she realized she could use fabric "snippets" as "dabs" of color to create pictures.

Snippets will work with virtually any artistic technique, from impressionism to realism to abstract. Here are some of the spectacular works Cindy has created with this technique. They are shown in Cindy's books, Snippet Sensations: Fast, Fusible Fabric Art for Quilted or Framed Projects (Krause Publications, 1996) and More Snippet Sensations (Krause Publications, 2000), available in the SewAndQuilt.com Shopping Center.
